Spotify Mock Application Feature

A mock visual design for an added Spotify mobile application feature

Dates: February - May 2019

Client: Pratt Institute

Role: User Experience Designer

Background

This project was done for the Pratt Institute’s UX design program, as a visual design exercise.

Design Ideation

I personally find it difficult to share music with friends, and am always looking for new music. So I built this features to address the problem statement:

It’s difficult for users to find and share music with other people through the Spotify application.

This is a mock design for an added Spotify feature where users can post and share their favorite songs with their friends.

Visual Design

This design is an added “Feed” feature, where you can share music with your friends, and vice versa. Check out the small “feed” button in the bottom right of the menu.

Additional features in this redesign:

  • See music your friends have shared

  • Click the heart and “like” music that a friend has shared

  • See who has “liked” what you have shared

  • See your “Feed List”, which shows everything that you have shared previously.

This is a way to easily keep track of your favorite music as well as get suggestions for new music.
